THE WORLD’S LEADING TRAVEL TRADE SHOW ITB BERLIN OPENS SOON

Berlin will once again become the most important meeting place for the tourism industry from 5 until 7 March, 2024. The ITB Berlin fair will gather numerous international experts under the motto: “Pioneer the Transition in Travel & Tourism. Together”. The organizers have prepared an extremely rich program, with over 5,000 international exhibitors and over 24,000 visitors, who are expected at the fair. 400 representatives from the world’s leading companies will present the latest news and reflections in this dynamic industry on 4 stages.

DIGITALIZATION AND THE USE OF ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE

The challenges of digitization and the growing possibilities of using artificial intelligence are just some of the current topics that will be discussed. Stefan Ebener (Head of Customer Engineering) from Google will talk about the popular topic of artificial intelligence in his presentation “How GenAI is changing the Digital World – from Future Tech to Daily Business”. His colleague from Microsoft, Karim Bagga (Engineering Group Manager, Travel and AI) will provide an insight into the possibilities and opportunities provided by the application of artificial intelligence. Dave Stephenson (Chief Business Officer) from Airbnb will present the current plans of this popular booking platform.

RESPONSIBLE AND SUSTAINABLE TOURISM

Responsible tourism is an unavoidable theme of the fair in Berlin. A whole series of events, such as the Green Business Forum, will be organized to promote sustainability in tourism. Experts will discuss how the travel industry can globally contribute to greater sustainability, ecology and social equality. As part of ITB, the TO DO and Green Destinations Awards for responsible and sustainable tourism will be awarded.

OMAN – A PARTNER COUNTRY

This year, the partner country of the fair is Oman. Under the slogan “Beauty Has An Address”, the Ministry of Heritage and Tourism of Oman will present their diverse tourist and cultural offer. Oman will also be the official partner of the MICE evening and the ITB Bloggers Base event.
